Are You a Part of the RIOT ACT?

Posted in Game with tags , , , , , on January 31, 2010 by Gray[Matality]

I was on my computer doing a research on Shays’ Rebellion (for school), then suddenly I found this when looking up for the Riot Act in Wikipedia. I didn’t know, but it seems that “Riot Act” is the Japanese version of the American version “Crackdown” for the Xbox 360; The art cover may be different, but the gameplay is still the same.

This was just a trivial thing that I wanted to share. Now, I’m wondering why did they change the title of the game? Is it because the word “crack” is in there?

Recommendations of Revision3´s Shows

As I have stated the other day about websites that I visit daily, I decided to go more into detail for each category. First, I´m starting with Revision3 (an Internet Television).

A little bit of background information on how Revision3 became to be to those who are clueless right now. It was founded by Jay Adelson, David Prager, and Kevin Rose in April 2005 due to TechTV firing most of the workers and turning it to a new TV channel called G4 (Check their wikipedia page for the rest). As of now, there are currently around 20 podcast shows; shows such as AnimeTV, Bytejacker, CO-OP, Film Riot, ROFL, and Web Zeroes (that I know of) were first started as their own independent site.

Recommendations (shows that I watch)

ROFL -  Standup comedy jokes compiled into one from people across USA (from Rooftop Comedy)

The Totally Rad Show (TRS) – Three dudes (Alex, Dan, and Jeff) review about movies, video-games, comics, and TV shows

CO-OP – Group of six guys (some are formerly from “The 1UP Show”)  that discuss about video-games (from Area 5)

Web Zeroes – A series about three guys that want to become internet famous (from Smooth Few Films)

Diggnation – Alex Albrecht & Kevin Rose discuss about the latest news in digg.com

Film Riot – Sharing tips & tricks on how to become a sucessful film maker (by Triune Films)

Scam School – Revealing magic tricks/scams that can be used at a bar or on the streets at anytime

Tekzilla – Tech show that covers product reviews, computer help, tech tips, and do it yourself projects

So, here are 8 podcast shows that I currently watch weekly. Feel free to check other interesting shows while you’re there!

PS: Thanks to my bro, because I wouldn’t have known about Revision3 if it wasn’t for him

It’s Morphing Time!

Posted in Interests with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on January 23, 2010 by Gray[Matality]

As I was just surfing the web late last night, I stumbled upon something interesting and shocking to me. Jason David Frank also known as Tommy Oliver in the Power Rangers series is going to be debuting as a Mixed-Martial Arts (MMA) fighter. He is listed in the middleweight (185lbs) class, but he’s fighting against a heavyweight in his debut; the fight is going to take place in Houston, TX on the 30th against Johnathon “the Mack Truck” Mack at the Legacy Fighting Championship. Good luck and I hope that this new path of his will become successful!

Full Frame vs WideScreen

Posted in Interests with tags , , , , , , , , , on January 21, 2010 by Gray[Matality]

When buying a DVD, have you ever thought the difference between the full frame and the widescreen version? Until now (thanks to Film Riot), I have never realized it that they use a technique called “Pan & Scan” for the full frame version where they zoom in to the video (making the screen full), but you will happen to lose picture quality and also the action on the left and right sides of the screen. So the next time you’ll buy a DVD, please make sure to pick up the widescreen version in order to get the full action scene if you did not know.

“Can’t Let You Go Even If You Die”

Posted in Music with tags , , , , , , , , on January 20, 2010 by Gray[Matality]

Just a few hours ago, 2AM has finally released their first mini album called “죽어도 못 보내” or “Can’t Let You Go Even If You Die”. This mini album only contains 4 full tracks (3min+), but all of them are very appealing to the listener. I am already hooked to their songs even though I only heard a few times; out of nowhere, I started singing the chorus!

You may not like it at first, but just give them a try. Before you know it, you will be humming to the beat.

Tracklist

01 – Intro
02 – 죽어도 못 보내
03 – I’m Sorry I Can’t Laugh For You
04 – I Love You (feat. Baek Chan, Joo Hee of 8eight)
05 – To Her (feat. Chansung of 2PM)
06 – Outro
